In 1957, he began to organize the “Buddhist CulturalService Center,” which later became the Fo Guang Publishing House.&&&&&&& In 1967, he founded FoGuang Shan Monastery, whose main goal is to promote HumanisticBuddhism while abiding by the objectives：“To foster tal to promote Budd to benefit societythrough to purify human minds through Buddhistpractice.”The Order is dedicated to the promotion of Buddhisteducation, culture, charity and Dharma propagation. It alsodemonstrates the integration of tradition and modernity with itsown set of constitution and system, and has brought Buddhismtowards a milestone of modernization.&&&&&& Over two hundred branchtemples were subsequently established around the worldincluding：Hsi Lai Temple in North America, Nan Tien Temple inAustralia, and Nan Hua Temple in South Africa. At the same time,nine museums, twenty libraries, twelve bookstores, over fiftyChinese Schools and sixteen Buddhist Colleges were establishedalong with.& In addition, there is also Chih-Guang SeniorCommercial and Industrial Vocational High School, Pumen HighSchool, Jiun Tou Elementary and Junior High School, University ofthe West (formerly Hsi Lai University) in the U.S., Fo GuangUniversity in Ilan, and Nan Hua University in Chiayi, Taiwan, andNan Tien University (now under preparation) in Australia.& In2006, University of the West received Accreditation by the WesternAssociation of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and became the firstuniversity established by a Chinese organization to receive such anhonor in the United States.&&& In 1991, Master Hsing Yun established theBuddha's Light International Association (BLIA) and was electedPresident of BLIA, Headquarters.& As the biggest Chineseassociation in the world, the BLIA now consists of over 170chapters established across the world, thus realizing VenerableMaster's ideal to“Let the Buddha's Light shine in all threethousand realms, and the stream of Dharma to flow across all FiveContinents.”In 2003, the BLIA was granted NGO in SpecialConsultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of theUnited Nations.&&&&& In 2004, he accepted the offer forchairperson of the National Cultural Association, Committee ofReligion Studies, and attended the Love and Peace Musical PrayerCeremony along with leaders of Christian, Catholic, I Kuan Dao,Daoist and Muslim religions.& This was an enhancement ofreligious exchanges and mind-purification for society by religion.&&&&&&& Master Hsing Yun hasenabled Buddhism to develop in a systematic, modern, humanistic,and global manner. His achievement and merit are truly magnificent.&&宜興大覺寺&宜興大覺寺，位於江蘇省宜興市，為禪宗臨濟宗道場。&&&&&&南宋咸淳（）年間，由志寧禪師創建，至今約有七百多年歷史。清乾隆（）年間，以超界仁禪師重新整修寺院後，寺名更改為「集賢山大覺院」。清道光（）年間，廣法法師擔任住持和尚期間，再將寺名更改為「白塔山大覺禪院」。隨後，太平天國之亂戰火四起，大覺禪院因飽受戰亂之苦而嚴重毀損。&&&&&&民國初年，臨濟宗第四十七代弟子志開和尚擔任住持，寺院再因文革而遭受破壞，舊址至此難以復原。&&&&&&第四十八代弟子星雲大師跨海赴台，創立佛光山，後重返宜興，復興祖庭，重修大覺寺，選址西渚鎮橫山水庫旁王飛嶺岕重建，占地千畝，依山傍水，翠竹環繞。&&&&&&星雲大師之重建宜興大覺寺，除報師恩外，更期為兩岸佛教之交流，神州佛教之復興，有所裨益。&&&&&&大覺寺建址位於橫山水庫東側，雞龍山岕，周邊資源優越，依山傍水，形成獨特的地域景觀特色，是現代與文化的結合，具有仿古的江南建築風格，通過佛教文化的引入，傳播佛教思想。&&&&&&大覺寺功能分佈將以“宗教服務、生態公園、茶文化服務、文化教育”等區域爲主。其中宗教服務區內建有入口廣場、阿育王柱、香雲會館、男衆寮房、女衆寮房、正殿、前殿、千佛窟、放生池、大覺寮、佛學院、佛塔、竹韻廣場、美術館、學校等。是一個融休閒、旅遊、度假、娛樂、商務于一體的自然生態並有深厚文化底蘊的旅遊觀光度假區。她將是世界上最美的寺院。&Yixing Dajue Temple&Situated in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, Dajue Temple is a templeof the Linji Sect Chan School.&&&&& First established by Chan Master ZhiNing during , the temple has a history of approximately700 years.& During the Qianlong Period () of QingDynasty, the temple was renovated by Chan Master Chao-jie-jen andrenamed “Ji-xian-shan Da-jue-yuan”(Great Enlightenment Court forthe Assembly of Eminent Ones). The temple was once again renamed“Bai-ta-shan Da-jue-chan-yuan”(White Tower Mountain GreatEnlightenment Chan Court) during
