& & 做珠子，最重要的就是选材，相信大家都知道“十檀九空”，买木料要是只看外观漂亮就买了，很可能拉回家，切开后，里面是空的，黑的，就赔钱了。所以在选料的时候就要根据木料的体积、重量、密度等等，估算下原木是不是空心。

& & 直接上锯切片，锯片也要尽量选择很薄的那种，因为太厚的锯片会消耗太多的木料，我们这都叫做厚锯片“吃肉”太多，(紫檀材料很贵，切掉一小块够吃好多肉了)，

& & 这一步很关键，要很小心，注意力集中，因为锯齿很锋利，一不小心就会伤到珠胚，导致残损，降低出珠率，更要注意自己的手指，要是伤到手指就麻烦大了，所以要全神贯注。

第五步：打孔
& & 珠胚做好了，这一步就是打孔了，打孔是个细致活，要全神贯注，不能给打歪了，歪孔的珠子就要作废掉，多可惜，几年前都是老式机器，打出的孔又大又粗的，不好看，这两年都是新设备了，打出的孔又小有精致的。

& & 这是很重要的一步，对于最后的出成率也有很大影响。
& & 首先就是按照要加工的珠子的尺寸，换上尺寸不同的、刀刃为圆弧状的旋刀。然后把小圆柱柱横着固定在设备上，开动机器，使小圆柱柱按照一定的速度旋转，旁边的旋刀也会旋转，将圆柱柱切削成圆珠珠。

& & 需要注意的是，在切削的过程中，由于不管是珠子或者旋刀都在高速旋转，所以两者接触必然产生热量，这时就需要上面有根细管子滴出水滴，也没必要直接很冲的水流冲上去。
& & 此举的主要作用有两点，一个是可以降低佛珠的温度，另外一个就是补充水分，因为佛珠产生高温会使木头表面的水分蒸发，滴水上去可以补充木珠损失的水分，进而就不会使得木珠表面缺水内部含水，导致木珠内外密度应力不一产生开裂的现象。

第七步:手工打磨& &
& & 这一步是非常考验老师傅功力的。先将表面较粗的原木用角磨机打磨一遍，然后用砂纸打磨，依顺序一遍遍由粗砂纸到细砂纸打磨，从180目-320目-600目-1000目-1500目-2000目-3000目。具体打磨的目数按照客户以及市场的不同需求，一般为600或2000。

目前打磨分2中方法，
& & 一种是就只打磨到600目，是因为600目的时候金星和牛毛纹最明显，很能体现小叶紫檀的特性。
& & 另外一种是高抛，打磨到2000目-3000目，甚至更多高，这样打磨出的珠子外观非常漂亮，有些油性好的料子，刚高抛打磨成型，就非常的油润亮泽，非常漂亮，卖相非常好，这样的珠子牛毛纹和棕眼都被细砂纸打磨的非常细小，看起来非常的细腻圆润，特别高的砂纸打磨还会出现镜面效果，珠子看起来光光亮亮的。
& & 俩种打磨方式，不能说哪一种好，哪一种不好，都是根据玩友的需求衍生出来的结果，
& & 不过怎么说呢，文玩饰物，玩的是眼缘，盘的是棱角，磨的是内心，享受的是过程。
